CATCH UP

Hi, it's been quite a while since the last blog. So, now, I'm playing catch up. Let's see, the trip to Florida was good. I hope it helped our Kid. We took about 12-15 loads from one house to the other, with the Coyote's truck. No one had any money, so we ate a lot of tuna and drank a lot of water. It was hot and muggy, not my favorite kind of weather. We got a lot done, but boy did we sweat! While we were there the car was repossessed, so now the Kid is catching rides to where he needs to go. He is not a happy camper, but, I hope he is learning a thing or two, or three, or etc.

When we left (after four days), we went to Chattanooga, TN. We met some friends that we had not seen since 1993 when they moved from California. Jim was the husband, and Debi was the wife, also one of my best friends. Deb died a year ago and I really miss her...a lot! What a hoot she was and what a team we made. Anyway, the reason we met Jim, and his fiancee, Diana, was to (of course) have a good time reliving the past and to have a nice dinner at the Texas Roadhouse, I love there bread and honey butter, yummmmmmmmm, nice and hot...and the best part of dinner was that they treated. Well, maybe that wasn't the best part, my rib eye steak was muy scrumptuous. After dinner we went back to the hotel room and talked for another hour or two. Before going up to our room, tho, Jim had packed some of Debi's treasures for me. I was so excited. I know she would have wanted me to have them because they mean so much. And...one of those treasures was her OLD singer treadle sewing machine. I was so excited and happy to have it. It was, however, larger than the covered space in Coyote's truck, so we went from Chattanooga to Cody with the back unsecured. It wasn't a problem, the machine was way too heavy for anyone to steal. And, the Big Guy upstairs kept the rain away so everything was good.

After our dinner and sleep, we drove to Mound City, MO and spent the second night. The next day, we drove from Mound City, MO all the way to Cody, yah, HOME! We ended up only putting about 4,500 miles on the truck, but the last day we drove almost 1,000 miles. Boy, were we glad to be home.

Since our trip, we have been very busy. The Ol' Coyote has been busy with Fred, doing the irrigation stuff, so we can have water for the lawn. Also, one of our dear friends died and he has been helping the flying club clean out the basement. Porter (our friend) had so much stuff in the basement for the flying hobby that it has taken 4 guys all week to clean it out, and it's still not done. They are going to try and sell the stuff so his widow, Betty will get the much needed money. Port had no life insurance... The Ol' Coyote sold Port's guns and brought the money to Betty who was so excited, now she can pay the property taxes. Life goes on...so do the taxes, unfortunately.

While the Coyote was busy, so was I. I have been so much better since my surgery and since I found a new doctor. He has changed my meds and I feel like I have walked out of a fog. I had been on lithium for almost 20 years. I no longer have to take that drug and I am so elated. I feel like me again and it is wonderful. I can concentrate better, and, I can focus. I am sewing more, I have three quilts going and I have taken up rubber stamping again and I love it. I'm cooking more and cleaning more. I have energy and excitement in my life again...wahoo! The only problem now is my sleeping, or the lack of...

WOW...I just got information from Robert that my favorite family (the Clarks) are coming to Cody again this year for their vacation. I don't know why they like us so well, but I'm sure happy they do. We love having them here and we go fun places and laugh and have a lot of fun. This year I am trying to get a reservation at the Old Faithful Lodge for one night. It is in Yellowstone Nat'l Park and a really big landmark. Robert and the Ol' Coyote go ATVing and that gives April and I time to shop (with Kaitlyn, their daughter). Kaitlyn is great. When we first met them, the Coyote nicknamed her the Midget. You have to picture this little blond girl with this deep voice, it was really cute. Since then, she has grown so much (I know they do that). She is changing into a nice well mannered young lady...a rare breed now days.

Changing the subject, we just got home from the movies, we went with Fred and Gail to see Larry the cable guy in Delta Farce. Wow, what a bust...save your money, it was not funny and really dumb. I expected it to be dumb, but funny...it wasn't.

The debates are on now and I need to go. My typing is noisy for the Coyote to hear, so I better say goodnight.
