THE FOURTH IS COMING!

Hi to all (all of one or two that read this). I can't believe that June came and went and not one posting, sheesh...you blink and it's gone. I guess June was pretty full. I know part of it was.

My cousin came to visit from Texas. She is a master seamstress and I was in the middle of a piecing quilt and she decided we would work on it. WELL...let me tell you. Before she went home we had finished the pieced top! Plus, she came with quilt frame instructions. So, we hired the Ol' Coyote to help build. We went to the Coyote's shop and got all the wood we needed and Colleen, my cousin, can sweet talk that Coyote into doing anything for her. So, he stopped what he was doing and devoted himself to our project. Again, that was completed prior to Colleen's departure.

While Colleen was here we got to go to Yellowstone (my third favorite place to visit). What are number one and two, you ask. Well, number one is of course, Disneyland! My number two is Miami, Oklahoma...the home of April, Robert, and the midget! Well, she was the midget...maybe now since she is a teenager and her legs are longer than mine, maybe we should change her name to Gidget! (Probably, she would just like to be called Kaitlyn, since that is her name.) But the Coyote nicknamed her "the midget" and he still calls her that, so...oh well, she just politely smiles....I wonder what she is really thinking...hummmmm

Yellowstone was great. It wasn't too warm, so we really had a great day. We took the northeast entrance, and that way we got to go up the Beartooth Highway, into Cooke City ( I even bought a great T-shirt). The next time we go to Cooke City, I will know to use the bathroom facilities at the Chamber of Commerce. I went to the gas station to use the facilities, and I had to buy something to be able to get the key for the OUTHOUSE!!! I couldn't believe it. They padlock the outhouses.... what is this world coming to????? Anyway, when you gotta go, you gotta go. After we used their facilities, we stopped at the Chamber of Commerce (Cooke City) and I looked out the window and saw their facilities (outhouses) and they had no padlocks, they were free....wow, free to pee....what a concept!!!

Sorry about the delay in Cooke City, now back on the road to Yellowstone. The reason we went thru Cooke City (like we needed an excuse) was because there is a neat waterfall just off that road. You have to park the car and walk about a city block and you see this gorgeous waterfall. It has a name...Crazy Woman Falls. It isn't on the map and it is one of the best. When April and Bob come up we get to go there again, to show them and take mega pictures, I can't wait!

After we spent so much time at the falls, then stopping to have a picnic lunch (which was yummy). Fried chicken, macaroni salad, chips and fruit....oh yum... then we went to Canyon, to the new visitors center. They have a lot of pictures, maps and even a short film on Yellowstone, the Caldera, and the fires. It was very interesting. The whole visitor's center in Canyon was very interesting...so were the gifts to buy...had to buy some. I got the prettiest picture of the lower falls in a poster, which has been framed and is hanging in the theater room, downstairs. It looks great...but the Coyote wouldn't let me hang it on the main floor....silly boy...drives me crazy sometimes....hummm, sometimes??? ok, moving on...

After Canyon, it was getting late so we decided to skip Artist point, the upper falls and the lower falls, all of which are my favs...but it was a long drive and we were getting tired of sitting so we decided to keep moving. It was a super drive with animals and sights all over. Thru the whole day, we saw deer, squirels, a bald eagle, buffalo, and coyote ( not the one I'm sitting next to). We saw all the animals, or yeah, the Pelican too. All except the major Moose, Elk and Grizzly, dang...I hate it when we don't get to see the A team!

We got to Sylvan Pass, and, as usual, the motor goes off and we sit and wait for the pilot car. It didn't take too long and we were on our way. I wanted to stop at the Buffalo Bill Dam, it's a tourist place, but, a beautiful body of water as well. The Ol' Coyote has never seen the display so I thought it would be great to stop. I was out voted, everyone was tired and ready to get home, so we kept driving and got home around 8pm. It was a long (but delicious) day...

The next day, we stayed at home and did some more sewing. We took a trip to the quilt store and of course, walmart...then that evening, we went to a BBQ to which we had been invited. It was another fun, but full, day.

As with all good things, Colleen had to return home, so up to Billings, MT we went to take her to the airport. I'm hoping she had a great time. She said she did and we all sure enjoyed her visit.

I guess I need to stop this blog, my sister and husband are due to arrive and then we will have more fun and I can blog again. Tomorrow is the 4th of July and we have a parade to go to in the am. Then in the pm, we have a party and another BBQ to attend. After the BBQ, we will sit out under the stars and watch the great Cody fireworks... They are awesome. They begin at 10pm and go for one half hour.....stuuuuuuuuupendious!!!

OK, I'm outa here, have a great 4th!!!
